• Research chemical processes that will allow a transition to a bio-based economy, wherein all building blocks are renewable.
• Develop novel catalytic strategies to make organic synthesis easier and cleaner, with fewer synthetic steps producing less waste, using catalysts based on earth-abundant materials.
• Develop chemistries and materials that enable the production of fuel from water and sunlight.
• Develop new materials and processes for electrocatalytic energy conversion and storage.
