Eric Schuler has won the Sustainable Chemistry student essay competition 2015. His prize is a two-month research trip to Chengdu in China with all expenses paid.
Eric's winning entry is titled 'Sustainable Chemistry - A chance, not a burden'. According to the judges: 'This essay has a very good start and a good storyline. It combines facts and opinions in a clear and scientific manner. There is criticism of companies who replace BPA with something else but do not report it, and even a way out by using isosorbide.'
Runners up
Florentine Veenstra and Mirjam Kleinstra finished 2nd and 3rd and both receive a cash prize of € 250 each for their entries

Award ceremony
The prizes were awarded on 10 December 2015 in a festive ceremony during the Sustainable Chemistry “Amsterdam meets China” symposium.
